EXPLAINATION OF PLAN

THE ELEVATORS RUN WITH "O" AND "T" FOR DOWN, AND "L" AND "P" FOR UP. iT MIGHT JUST BE MY MACHINE BUT THE FIRST RUN DOESN'T WORK AS THEY COMPONENENTS DON'T MOVE TOGETHER BUT IF YOU PUT IT BACK UP THEN DOWN AGAIN IT RUNS SMOOTHLY!
ALSO HE CAN'T WALK INTO THE LIFTS, EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE BIGGER THAN THE SMALLEST STANDARD DOOR SIZE. FOR THIS REASON THEY ARE NOT ANIMATED.

SUBMISSION: THE IMAGE CAPTURES AND ARCHIECTURE

















MY TWO CLIENTS ARE MIRANDA KERR AND ANGELA MERKEL. KERR EMPLOYS SEXUAL, FEMININE AND AESTHETIC POWER. WHILE MERKEL REPRESENTS ACADEMIC AND POLITICAL POWER. BOTH IN THEIR OWN RIGHT ARE INFLUENTIAL AND HAVE A HIGH PROFILE IN THE PUBLIC EYE. SOCIETY LOOKS TO THEM IN ASPIRATION, ADMIRATION AND FOR GUIDANCE.

MY SELECTED BUSINESS IS THE “WOMEN’S COUNCIL FOR WORLD LEADERS” – MERKEL IS AN OFFICIAL MEMBER. KERR WILL JOIN TO REPRESENT A SOCIAL STAND POINT. THE MEETING PLACE FOR THESE CLIENTS IS IN THE LIFTS. THE LIFTS PIVOT TO COME TOGETHER TO FORM A BOARD ROOM. WHILE UP THE LIFTS CAN BE USED AS OFFICES – TO SHOW THAT THEY INDIVIDUAL ACTIVITIES ARE WHAT THE CLIENTS BRING TO THE COUNCIL. THIS IS THE ONLY TIME THE CLIENTS MEET. APART FROM BEING WOMEN LEADERS, THE CLIENTS DON’T HAVE MUCH IN COMMON.

THE LANDFORM IS USED AS A METAPHOR FOR SOCIETY. THE BRIDGES FORM IS LINEAR, DEFINED AND CLEAR. THE RECTILINEAR FORM CONTRAST WITH THE ENVIRONMENT TO REPRESENT HOW THOSE IN POWER STAND FORWARD AND STAND OUT IN SOCIETY. IN THE SAME SENSE THE STRUCTURE IS VISIBLE (IN THE FORM OF I BEAMS) AND OBVIOUS AS IT STANDS STRONG AND CONNECT WITH THE FORM, JUST LIKE POWER.

THE USE OF RAW MATERIALS, SUCH AS BRICKS AND GLASS, SHOW THAT THERE IS A LINK BETWEEN THE POWER OF THESE WOMEN AND SOCIETY. THE SIMILAR COLOURS AND TRANSPARENCY SHOW THE IT IS SOCIETY HAVE DEFINES THE SUCCESS OF THESE WOMEN, SO THEY HAVE A RELATIONSHIP IN THIS WAY.

THE ROOF TOP GARDEN IS TO COMMUNICATE THE IDEA THAT THE LANDFORM FLOWS ONTO THE BRIDGE, WHILE THE BRIDGE SUPPORTS IT, IT ALSO EMERGES FROM IT! IN THE SAME WAY, SOCIETY IS HELD UP BY THE POWER OF THESE WOMEN, BUT IT IS SOCIETY WHERE THEIR POWER BEGAN/BEGINS.

MY ORIGINAL IDEA FOR THE STRUCTURE WAS TO HAVE A “Z” SHAPE OF I BEAMS (SIMILAR TO THE STRUCTURE USED FOR THE HARBOUR BRIDGE, THAT TRIANGULAR LOOK) THAT GOES ACROSS THE ARCHITECTURE, WITH THE RECLINER BRIDGE BETWEEN. THE IDEA WAS THE STRUCTURE WAS POWERFUL AND STRONG IN AN OBVIOUS SENSE.

HOWEVER WHEN I THOUGHT ABOUT IT, I DECIDED THAT THIS STRUCTURE SUPPORTED THE POWER OF THE BRIDGE, INSTEAD OF BEING INCORPORATED IN IT. THUS I WHEN FOR A MORE LINEAR, DEFINED STRUCTURE THAT IS DIRECTLY CONNECTED TO THE ARCHITECTURE. THIS NEW STRUCTURE ALSO DIDN’T TAKE AWAY FROM THE CRISP FORM OF THE BRIDGE – THE CONTRAST WITH THE LANDSCAPE CONVEYS POWER BETTER THAN THE “Z” STRUCTURE WOULD HAVE.
